Our Policies

Policies and Procedures

Conduct

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Our Therapists reserve the right to end an appointment at any time if they feel threatened, uncomfortable, or if they feel their client is acting inappropriately. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, touching of a massage therapist in an inappropriate way, will result in the termination of the massage session and the client will not be allowed to return for further massages. Our full fee will be expected.

Arrival to Your Massages

New first time clients are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes early. This allows time to fill out the appropriate client forms. Established clients should arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled time. All massages have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience.

If late arrival is inevitable, your service(s) may be shortened in order to keep on schedule. The original treatment time will be charged.

Attire

Clients are advised to wear comfortable clothing for their massage sessions, such as shorts, a tank top, or a sports bra, especially when booking a session in our “Fast Track” Recovery Room. Loose-fitting clothing allows for ease of movement during active stretching incorporated into the massage. If you are receiving a Post- Op Lymphatic Recovery Session, clients are not required to wear compression garments as you come in, but feel free to bring them with you in a bag to change into once the session is done.

Payment

For your first visit we may require prepayment 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, otherwise payment is due when services are rendered. Please be aware of the rate for your particular massage before receiving the service. We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover or American Express), Spa Finder gift cards, Spa and Wellness gift cards by Spa Week and HSA Savings accounts.

  • Insurance Billing
Our studio does not offer direct billing to insurance companies. We can provide an itemized receipt for your session that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. You must contact your health insurance provider to verify that massage therapy is a covered plan benefit and for instructions on how to submit your claim. You are responsible for full payment at time of service.

  • Gift Certificates
Gift certificates may be purchased for any value amount or specific services and are redeemable for services only, no cash value and no product or supplement purchase. Massage by M.E. Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or unauthorized gift certificate use. If you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment, the gift certificate will be considered redeemed and no longer valid.

  • Gratuities
Gratuities are not required, but they are always sincerely appreciated. The amount of gratuity is at your discretion, but the customary gratuity for a massage therapist is 20% – 30% of the non-discounted service value.

Late Arrivals

Running late? Contact us as soon as you can, by voice message or text message via phone number 407-738-6613, direct message via social media or via email at MassagebyMEstudio@gmail.com. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your practitioner will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for payment of the full session.

Cancellation

When you make an appointment with us for a massage, we reserve that time especially for you. Since that time is held for you, we respectfully ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice if you must cancel or reschedule an appointment. This courtesy enables us to compensate our therapists for their time, and maintains a higher availability of our time for you as well as other guests. For this reason, a credit card is required to secure your massage appointment. In the case of a Late Cancel or No Call/ No Show for your scheduled appointment time, half of the service value may be charged to the payment method on file (minimum of $30). For members and package holders a Late Cancel or No Call/ No Show will result in one (1) forfeited massage session.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds. If, for any reason you are not satisfied, please contact our Studio by phone at 407-738-6613 or via email at

MassagebyMEstudio@gmail.com, and we will promptly address your concerns so that you may continue to be a satisfied client. Again, prepaid appointments canceled outside of our 24 hour policy will be issued a credit in the full amount to be used for any future appointments.

Health Considerations

Please inform us at time of scheduling of any health conditions, allergies, special needs or concerns you have. The patient must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health or condition.Your safety is important to us & some services may not be appropriate for certain conditions.

Communicate Your Preferences

Be sure to speak up. All aspects of your session can be modified to your preference: pressure (too light or too deep), whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence or if you are uncomfortable in any way. Please speak up, our feelings will not be hurt.

Age Requirement

The therapists at Massage by M.E. Studio are trained and prepared to work with patients of all ages. If the child is younger than 18 years old, we will ask a parent or guardian to fill out and sign the consent forms and sit in on the treatment.

No Phone Policy

To ensure a relaxing environment, clients are kindly requested to refrain from using their phones during the session. Cell phones should be turned off or placed on silent mode before entering the Studio. If there is an urgent need to use the phone, clients are respectfully requested to “use their inside voices”.

Feedback and Concerns

Client feedback is highly valued and helps us improve our services. Please provide feedback or express any concerns to the management, therapists or

receptionist.

Health and Wellbeing

Our studio promotes holistic wellness and wellbeing, aiming to enhance both physical and mental health. We may offer additional wellness resources, such as stretching recommendations, self-care tips or supplements. Feel free to inquire about these offerings.

It is important to stay hydrated before and after the massage session to support the body's natural healing process.

Clients are advised to listen to their bodies and communicate any discomfort or pain during the session, so that the therapist can adjust the treatment accordingly.

Engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, and practicing self-care are beneficial for maximizing the benefits of massage therapy. It's best not to arrive to your session with a full stomach as you may experience discomfort from the techniques and body positioning during the session.

We ask that you do not come to your session under the influence of alcohol or drugs as these things may mask your body's ability to receive the work safely.

If you have a cold, flu, sore throat, stomach virus, poison ivy, skin rash or anything contagious – please reschedule your appointment.

Some clients may experience muscle soreness the next day (if firmer pressure was used in the session). This should not last more than two days.
